Freshers(juniors as refered to) Need not worry they are protected from ragging they are given Group 4 security (the same group gaurds IISC Bangalore from ISI agents) ,Below in the picture you can see the steel grill(cage) and the group 4 security guard.

Let us brief you about the procedure to be followed while joining the hostel (please refer the map for specific locations).

ADMISSION FEES
room rent for one year : Rs.1800/-
building fund : Rs.2000/-
mess deposit : Rs.2000/-
caution deposit : Rs.5000/-

the fee specifications given above are valid as on 1998 and thereby they may tend to change without prior notice for fresh batches.

MONTHLY MESS BILL

The 'mess bill' not only includes mess charges but also maintenance fees, electricity bill, etc, i.e., all charges taken into account.

The mess bill for one month is estimated to be around Rs.900/- as in 1999 where the mess charges are on dividing basis system, thereby the bill keeps varying around the estimated amount because it depends on several factors like the variant prices of the commodities. seat allotment & admission

Seat allotments are on the basis of merit and then on other factors like students from remote places. But further preference will be by 'first-come-first-served' among the allotments considering the limited seats in the hostel.

WHOM TO CONTACT?

For admission to SJCE Hostel, the first thing you are supposed to do is to contact the following authority: 1. The Resident Warden: He is available for you in his office above the lobby (shown in the map) during peak college hours-between 10 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. 2. The hostel manager: you can find him in the hostel office and he will attend to you between 10.00 a.m. and 01.30 p.m. and also between 02.30 p.m. and 05.00 p.m.

You are supposed to complete the formalities and do as instructed by the above reference. You are supposed to bring the entire fee amount in cash or DD (DD preferable) with you for speeding up the process.

Important

The most important thing we suggest you is that you should try for admission to the hostel as soon as you get your seat in SJCE College or when you are sure that you would get it (if you are aiming for it) because the number of seats in the hostel is damn limited! So guys, once you decide to join our great college, then do decide fast whether you want to join a hostel or live outdoors in separate room. Once you opt for the former, then don't think twice and blindly join our hostel, for our hostel is a great place to live in! And for those in the latter category, we'd really advise you to think twice and change your mind for the best.
